Five open boxes on this page

Key takeaways

  • What the old page did: six specification fields answered “not verified” while the panel above them published a warranty, a MOQ and prices.
  • What it still carried: lighting-era fields (connector, side, direction) and unit-based pricing on a brake kit.
  • The axle question: the order code says front and rear, every other field says front axle.
  • What survives: a five-row wheel-to-rotor map from 330 mm to 440 mm, and an honest Brembo-style brand line.

So we rebuilt this 340 Brembo calipers BMW reliable V6-style front kit page as a list of five open boxes, because that is what the record actually is. Each box below closes with what the seller publishes and what the buyer has to send. Where the record is silent, the page says so instead of filling the gap with a nicer number.

Box one: F30 340i, G20 M340i, or a 335i?

The name on the box covers more than one car, and the record never picks one.

F30 340i, from the 2015 facelift

The sixth-generation 3 Series started with the 328i and 335i, then the facelift brought the 330i and 340i. The 340i runs the B58 engine where the 335i ran the N55, which is exactly why an older 335i enquiry is not the same file as a 340i one.

G20 M340i, from spring 2019

The seventh-generation car launched with the M340i, and it came in rear-wheel drive and xDrive forms. Two cars with the same badge and different drivetrains can still leave the factory with different front hardware, so the VIN closes this box rather than the badge.

Its compatible-vehicle field reads “BMW applications with 18-inch and larger wheels”, so the chassis is never named. We are not going to invent one: you send the VIN, we match the brake version, and the wheel file decides the rest. An enquiry for a 135i, a car the old FAQ happens to mention, lands in the same place.

Box two: the axle the SKU argues about

The order code finishes with FR, which reads as front and rear, while the position field, the functions line and the product-details line describe a front axle kit. Here is the field set we will quote from.

Control fieldOn the record nowSend with the enquiry
Page SKUSLP-BMW-BS-V6-6P-FR-KIT (the FR suffix is a legacy code)The quotation and packing list carry this reference
Vehicle identityBMW; no chassis, year or market is namedVIN, model year, market and trim
AxleFront axle in every field except the SKUConfirm the front set, or ask for a rear set as its own record
Factory front brakesOriginal setup field reads “other / confirm”Current disc diameter plus caliper photos
Wheel18 inch and larger, clearance check requiredDiameter, width and offset; spoke and barrel photos

Two wheel figures matter once the rims are aftermarket: ET – the offset from the mounting face to the wheel centre line, and J – the bead-profile code stamped into the rim. A factory wheel needs its diameter, and the VIN supplies the brake version.

Box three: the wheel-to-rotor map, all five rows

Planning reference only. This is the most complete map in the seller’s brake range, which makes it the one part of the old page worth keeping word for word. Below 18 inch the plan stops; a 17 inch wheel is not on the record at all.

WheelOn the recordMeasure before approval
18 inch330 mm or 355 mmBarrel and spoke clearance
19 inch355 mm or 380 mmThe common upgrade range; check spoke shape and offset
20 inch380 mm or 405 mmOffset and caliper protrusion
21 inch400 mm or 412 mmOnly after the VIN and wheel review
22 inch420 mm, with 440 mm for confirmed special casesFull envelope check before the bell is cut

Diameter is not clearance

A market kit for an earlier 3 Series generation is listed as available for 330 mm rotors and bigger only, with options across 286 mm, 304 mm, 330 mm, 356 mm, 380 mm and 405 mm, and public catalogues in this class list 32–36 mm rotor thickness. That is the market for another chassis, not this set, and it shows the same lesson: two wheels of one diameter can sit completely differently around a six-piston body. The thickness and bell height that ship here are named in the quotation.

Box four: what actually ships in the crate

Three component groups are named on the record and three are left open. We keep that split visible rather than presenting a full kit that does not exist on paper yet.

GroupOn the record nowFixed in the quotation
Front calipersNamed as part of the setFinish, and the unit that is packed
BracketsNamed as part of the setCut to the approved front-axle mounting points

What a dealer should read here

Three named groups and three open ones is not a defect in the page, it is the honest state of the record. Two rules do not move: a fixed caliper takes 2 pads, one each side of the disc, and a front axle needs one disc per side. The quotation writes those counts down, and if rotors, pads and hoses have to sit inside the price, say so at the enquiry stage.

Box five: materials, the brand line and the missing numbers

The site material record lists 7050 aluminium alloy for the caliper body, hat and bracket, ceramic friction material for the pads and high-carbon cast iron for the discs. The grades themselves sit in the seller’s site-wide list, and no batch sheet for this kit was written alongside them.

The brand line is the best sentence on the old page, so it stays. This is a Brembo-style aftermarket kit; it is not genuine Brembo product, not an OEM part and not an authorized one, and no document on file says otherwise. The photos show the seller’s kit family and its suppliers, which is also not a statement of origin.

Four numbers never appear: no OE, OEM or MPN reference, no rotor thickness, no disc quantity and no brake test. Those belong to the vehicle file and the quotation, not to a product page, and inventing them would be the easiest way to break a dealer’s order.

Sources checked for this record: the Wikipedia F30 entry for the 340i timeline and engine change, the G20 entry for the M340i. Neither proves fitment on a particular car. The fitment language here was reviewed by the SteedLuxParts fitment desk, and the page was updated on 2026-09-22.

The terms this page now commits to

One car

The file opens with the VIN and the wheel data. Once the rotor and bracket answers are signed off, the quotation goes out, a 30% deposit starts production, and the build takes 3–7 business days. Delivery takes about 20–35 business days, and the balance settles before dispatch.

Batches and resale

Tier prices sit at USD 499 a set for 1–9 sets, USD 458 for 10–49 sets and USD 418 for 50–199 sets. The old cart said “unit” while the site says “set”, the old panel promised 12 months and the site default is 5 years, and the old badge said in stock for a kit that is built to order. This page keeps the site answer in each case. Packing is a 45 x 45 x 45 cm carton listed at 20 kg gross, weighed again before dispatch.

Questions that arrive before a 340 order

Which BMW is this kit actually for — a 340i, an M340i or a 335i?

The record names no chassis at all, so here is the honest map. Public references put the F30 340i after the 2015 facelift, when the B58 engine replaced the 335i’s N55, and the G20 M340i from spring 2019. A 335i enquiry is a different car again. Send the VIN and the brake version, and the wheel file follows.

The SKU ends in FR. Is this a front and rear kit?

Every other field on the record describes a front axle kit, and the product details line names front calipers, brackets and hardware. We treat the FR suffix as a legacy code and quote the front set; if you want a rear set as well, it is a separate record.

Which rotor size belongs behind my wheels?

The record publishes five rows: 330 mm or 355 mm at 18 inch, 355 mm or 380 mm at 19 inch, 380 mm or 405 mm at 20 inch, 400 mm or 412 mm at 21 inch, and 420 mm at 22 inch with 440 mm only for confirmed special cases. A market 3 Series kit is listed as 330 mm and bigger only. The wheel geometry still decides, and the quotation names the disc.

What actually ships, and what is still open?

Calipers, brackets and mounting hardware are named on the record. Rotors, pads and hoses are not itemised there, so their quantities, sizes and fittings are written into the quotation rather than assumed on this page.

Are these genuine Brembo calipers?

No, and the record says so itself: this is a Brembo-style aftermarket kit, and no brand authorization or OEM relationship is held. Nothing on this page should be read as genuine, OEM or officially approved product.

Which commercial terms apply — the panel or the table that says not verified?

The rebuild keeps one value per field: MOQ 1 set, 3–7 business days of production, about 20–35 business days of delivery and a 5-year manufacturing and quality warranty. The old table’s “not verified” rows and its 12-month line are being removed, because a page that publishes two answers publishes none.
