What this GS300 kit record keeps, and what it drops

Key takeaways

  • Scope: a front axle GT6 six-piston set for the Lexus GS300, planned around 18–21 inch wheels.
  • Kept: the wheel-to-rotor map, the 45 x 45 x 45 cm carton at 45 kg, MOQ 1 set and the tier prices.
  • Dropped: a headlight value that sat in the rear parking-brake row, and the duplicate warranty and lead-time strings.
  • Still open: the chassis, year and market behind the VIN, and the disc and bracket data the quotation fixes.

This Lexus GS300 big brake kit GT6 6 piston calipers record arrived with a table that had been filled in from two products at once. One row asked for a rear parking-brake type and answered “LED Projector”, which belongs to a headlight page. A warranty of 12 months sat in the same block as a 5-year promise in the panel above it. We rebuilt the page around what the record can defend.

Three GS300 buyers, three different files

The same kit page serves three buyers who arrive with different paperwork.

Owners and workshops

A GS300 owner usually comes with wheels already changed and a brake that feels tired behind them. The workshop that fits the set wants the bracket and disc schedule before the car is on the ramp, because a second booking costs more than the part. Both need one answer: the disc that matches the wheel that is actually on the car.

Importers and fleet buyers

An importer sends a list, and a GS300 list rarely contains one generation. A 1996 car, a 2003 car and a 2008 car can all read “GS300” on the invoice while needing three different records. We keep one file per VIN so a container does not turn into a returns problem.

We claim no universal fit, no factory relationship and no performance number. No brake test exists for this SKU, so none is quoted.

Which GS300 is in front of you: JZS147, S160 or S190

Five fields open the file, and the chassis code settles the first argument. The GS300 name has covered three generations since 1993, one of which offered all-wheel drive on the V6 models for the first time on a Lexus sedan.

Wheel18–21 inch planning referencesDiameter and width, with offset; ET and J on aftermarket rims
Disc interfaceFixed in the quotationApprove diameter, thickness, bell height and centre bore

Two wheel figures matter on aftermarket rims: ET – the offset from the mounting face to the wheel centre line, and J – the bead-profile code stamped into the rim. A factory wheel needs its diameter, and the VIN does the rest.

The wheel-to-rotor map, and the 405 mm top end

Planning reference only. These are the seller’s own starting values for this SKU, and they sit on top of the chassis check rather than replacing it.

WheelOn the recordMeasure before approval
18 inch345 mm or 355 mmSpoke shape, inner barrel, wheel width and offset
19 inch355 mm or 380 mmWheel geometry, factory brake envelope and bracket position
20 inch380 mm or 405 mmBarrel clearance, tyre package and hose route
21 inch405 mmFull wheel envelope and a template check before the bell is cut

Diameter is not clearance

Two 19 inch wheels can behave like two different countries, because offset, spoke shape and barrel space move independently of diameter. A market kit for a later Lexus GS is listed for 330 mm rotors and bigger only, and its catalogue spans 286 mm, 304 mm, 330 mm, 356 mm, 380 mm and 405 mm. Those figures describe that seller’s range rather than this kit, and the thickness and hat height that ship here are named in the quotation.

What leaves the factory in the box

Six lines describe the set. Quantities come from the record; the interfaces behind them are settled once the vehicle file is approved.

GroupQuantity on the recordSettled in the quotation
Front caliper2 calipersFinish and the exact unit that ships
Brake pad4 padsPad shape matched to the supplied calipers
Brake rotor2 rotorsDiameter, thickness, face finish and bell height
Bell hat and bracket2 bracketsMachined to the approved front-axle mounting points, with the bell hat cut to the disc
Brake hose2 hosesInterface checked by VIN, plus a routing and full-lock check
Brake fluid1 bottle, according to the selected modelFluid grade and volume

Spacers are not the opening answer

A six-piston body sits close to some spokes and clears others. The seller’s own line is that spacers are not the default fix, so the first pass is a photo of the spoke and the inner barrel, and only then a decision between a different wheel, longer hardware or a dust-shield trim. Rear calipers and parking-brake parts are quoted as their own set.

Material grades on file, and the field that does not belong

The site material record lists 7050 aluminium alloy for the caliper body, hat and bracket, ceramic friction material for the pads and high-carbon cast iron for the discs. The seller lists those same grades across its caliper pages; this SKU adds no batch report of its own.

The row that does not belong is gone: a rear parking-brake field should carry one of the three parking-brake values or stay empty, and a lighting value never belongs there. Three gaps remain honest. No factory part number is published, no brake test exists for this set, so no stopping distance or fade figure appears, and there is no printable clearance template for this SKU yet.

Sources checked for this record: the Wikipedia Lexus GS entry for the S140, S160 and S190 timeline, and the Wikipedia disc-brake entry for the caliper and disc terms. Neither proves fitment on a particular car. Fitment wording for this page was reviewed by the SteedLuxParts fitment desk; page updated on 2026-09-22.

Pricing, packing and the release sequence

One car

The vehicle file opens the job. After the disc and bracket answers are signed off, the quotation goes out, a 30% deposit starts production, and the build takes 3–7 business days. Delivery runs about 20–35 business days, with the balance due before dispatch. No material is cut while the file is still moving.

Batches and resale

Tier prices sit at USD 518 a set for 1–9 sets, USD 488 for 10–49 sets and USD 428 for 50–199 sets, with MOQ at one set so a sample can be fitted before a container is committed. Packing is a 45 x 45 x 45 cm carton at 45 kg gross on the record, and each finished set is weighed again. The 5-year cover applies to manufacturing and quality faults, and wear or incorrect fitting sits outside it.

Questions that arrive before a GS300 order

Can one kit cover a 1995 GS300 and a 2008 GS300?

No. Those two cars sit on different chassis, and the front brake hardware is not shared. Send the VIN or chassis number with the model year and market, and we match the record before a bracket drawing is cut.

Which rotor goes behind 18 inch GS300 wheels?

The record lists 345 mm or 355 mm for 18 inch wheels, and the map runs up to 405 mm at 20 inch and 21 inch. A neighbouring market kit for the later GS starts at 330 mm and tops out at 405 mm, so treat every figure as a starting point. Spoke shape, inner barrel and offset decide, and the quotation names the disc that ships.

What is in the box, and how heavy is it?

2 calipers, 4 brake pads, 2 rotors, 2 custom bell hats and brackets, 2 brake hoses and brake fluid, depending on the model you choose. One export carton at 45 kg gross is on the list, and we weigh the finished set again before dispatch.

Do I need wheel spacers with a big caliper?

Not by default. Some wheels clear a six-piston body untouched and some do not, which is why we ask for spoke and inner-barrel photos first. Where clearance is tight, the usual answers are a different wheel design, longer hardware or a dust-shield trim, and a spacer is the last resort rather than the opening suggestion.

Which data should I send before the quotation?

VIN or chassis number, model year, market and trim, wheel size with offset, ET and J on aftermarket rims, the current front rotor diameter, caliper photos and the destination country. A workshop that sends all of it in one message usually gets one quotation instead of three.

Is the GT6 caliper a branded unit, and what do the badges in the photos show?

The set is sold under the GT6 series name and no brand authorization or factory relationship is claimed. Badges and boxes in the pictures belong to the seller’s kit family and its suppliers; they are not a statement of origin, and they are not fitment evidence.

What the pictures show, and the first thing to send

The page carries nine pictures from the seller’s kit family: red and grey caliper samples, two boxed layouts, a procurement flow, the VIN location guide and a chart that shows 12 caliper colours and 8 rotor face patterns. Three more are shared template images. Not one of the twelve shows a GS300 with the set fitted.

Start with the chassis code and the model year, add the VIN, the wheel size with offset, ET and J on aftermarket rims, the current rotor diameter, caliper photos and the destination country. The reply carries the disc size, the bracket drawing and the price for the set.
