What this A3 8P front kit covers
The Audi A3 8P front brake caliper kit is one front axle set, built around Akebono 8N 6-piston calipers and a two-piece rotor that follows the wheel size you already run.
Read this before the drawing
- Vehicle scope: the 8P shell from 2003 to 2012, front axle only, with the VIN on the order.
- Caliper: Akebono 8N, 6-piston, in 7050 aluminum alloy.
- Rotor row: 345/355 mm behind 18 inch wheels, 380 mm behind 19 inch, 380/400 mm behind 20 inch.
- Release rule: no fitting evidence for this SKU sits on file, so nothing is cut until we have checked the vehicle and wheel record.
The vehicle record behind this A3 8P kit
What you are buying
A custom front kit for one shell rather than a factory part number. The caliper is fixed, the rotor row moves with the wheel, and the hat and adapter bracket are machined for your car. Our workshop reads the vehicle file before it lets the drawing go to the machine shop.
Where this page stops
It covers the front axle of the 8P only. Rear brakes, the parking brake and the factory S3 or TTRS routes sit outside this record, and so does any claim about stopping distance, track behaviour or road legality.
| Control field | On the record now | Send this with the RFQ |
|---|---|---|
| Vehicle identity | Audi A3 8P, 2003–2012, front axle kit | VIN and the model year |
| Front brake on your car | To be confirmed | A photo of the caliper and disc, or the option code list |
| Wheel diameter | 18–20 inch | Wheel size and tyre size |
| Aftermarket wheel ET/J | Not on the record yet | ET and J if the wheels didn’t leave the factory with the car |
| Hub face | 5×112, centre bore 57.1 mm | Nothing, unless a spacer or hub adapter is fitted |
| Rotor row | Set by wheel size, in the matrix below | Nothing to measure; the row follows the wheel |
| Caliper identity | Akebono 8N, as stated by the seller | A photo of the caliper stamp if you want it checked first |
The 5×112 bolt pattern and the 57.1 mm centre bore are listed for this shell by two independent wheel catalogues checked on 2026-09-28. They describe the car and they drive the hat drawing, so they are not a fitment approval for this kit.
Which rotor row your A3 8P wheels select
Planning reference only. The table shows how wheel size picks a rotor row on this record, and the last column names what still has to be measured before anything is cut.
| Wheel size | Rotor row on this record | What still decides the release |
|---|---|---|
| 18 inch | 345/355 mm two-piece rotor | Inner barrel shape, spoke clearance and the position of the caliper on the upright |
| 19 inch | 380 mm two-piece rotor | The same three checks, plus the hat height set on the drawing |
| 20 inch | 380/400 mm two-piece rotor | The same three checks again; the 400 mm row leaves the least room, so the barrel drawing decides |
A two-piece rotor is a system with a separate disc ring and a hat, which is what lets the same row sit behind more than one wheel.
Two ways buyers get this matrix wrong
- Reading it backwards. The wheel chooses the row, not the disc that is on the car today.
- Treating both 380 rows as interchangeable. A 19 inch wheel and a 20 inch wheel start from the same diameter figure and finish with different hats.
Market listings for this shell sit in the same band, so the rows aren’t unusual. One UK catalogue lists a 355 mm, 32 mm thick rotor in its 18 inch A3/S3 8P kit, and a European index shows 330/356 mm kits for the same shell. Read both as market references: they describe what other sellers offer, not what we ship.
What one front set carries, and what we confirm before cutting
| Component | Quantity on this record | Interface still to check |
|---|---|---|
| Akebono 8N calipers | To be confirmed | Mount pattern and piston bore read from the caliper stamp |
| Adapter brackets | Not listed yet | Hub face, upright bolt spacing and rotor offset |
| Two-piece rotors | One row per wheel size | Hat height, centre bore and bolt circle on the drawing |
| Brake pads and brake hoses | Open until the quotation | Pad compound, wear sensor and the inlet type at the caliper |
The adapter bracket – the plate that carries the caliper – is cut for the car, so it is the part that decides whether the wheel and the hose still line up.
The seller calls the fitting normal workshop work, and the order still opens at Confirm before order. No drawing, measurement record or fitting sheet has reached us for this SKU, so this page cannot promise a bolt-on swap. A job like this one ends with fresh fluid, a bleed, and a wheel-clearance check with the car on the ground.
Materials on file
- Caliper body: 7050 aluminum alloy.
- Hat and adapter bracket: 7050 aluminum alloy, machined per vehicle.
- Brake pads: ceramic friction material.
- Rotor ring: high-carbon cast iron, mounted on an aluminium hat.
Those four lines are the material values the supplier gave us. They are not an inspection result, and no drawing or test record for this SKU has been supplied with them.
How owners, workshops and importers order
An owner finishing a project
You’ll have the car on a lift and want a set that fits on the first attempt. Send the wheel size with the VIN and the rotor row is settled before the deposit. If the wheels aren’t original, the ET and J numbers matter more than the model badge.
A workshop or an importer
Trade buyers order against a job number, so the file has to be complete on the first pass. One set covers one axle. Repeat orders run on the same drawing once the vehicle record is closed, which is why we ask for those two figures up front.
- MOQ: 1 set, and one set is a front axle kit.
- Production: 3–7 business days, counted from the deposit.
- Delivery: about 20–35 business days after production.
- Payment: production starts after a 30% deposit is received, and the balance follows the quotation.
- Warranty: 5 years against manufacturing/quality defects only.
- Export carton: 45 x 45 x 45 cm, and the seller weighed one set at about 45 kg.
- Finish: caliper colour, bracket colour and hat colour are chosen with the order.

None of those three images shows this kit on an A3 8P, and none of them is fitting evidence for your car. They show the workshop sheet, the parts a set is built from and the export packing.
The next step
Send the model year, the VIN or body number, the wheel size, and the ET and J figures if the wheels are not factory. We answer with the rotor row, the bracket drawing, the price and the production slot. Nothing goes to the machine shop before that file is closed.
Questions that arrive before the VIN goes in
Which A3 8P builds does this front kit cover?
The record covers the 8P front axle from 2003 to 2012. The family ran in three body codes: 8P1, 8PA and 8P7, and the VIN tells us which one is in front of you. Cars built after 2012 stay outside this record until the seller confirms them.
Do I need 19 inch wheels for the 380 mm row?
No. A 19 inch wheel takes the 380 mm row, while an 18 inch wheel keeps the 345/355 mm row and a 20 inch wheel starts from the same 380 mm figure. What changes between them is the hat and the space inside the barrel, which is why the wheel file decides the drawing.
Can I order calipers only instead of the front set?
The record sells a front axle set. A calipers-only request would be quoted as a separate line, and the same vehicle file is still needed before any bracket or rotor is cut, so it doesn’t shorten the check.
Does this replace an S3 or TTRS front brake?
We do not make that claim. S3 and TTRS parts are factory routes on the same shell, and this page covers the Akebono 8N set described above. If you are weighing the two, send the option code list and we will say what the car carries now.
What happens to the VIN I send?
It stays in the quotation file as a masked reference and is used to read the build. We do not publish full chassis numbers, customer names or phone numbers anywhere on the site.
Why does the installation type say confirm before order?
Because no drawing, measurement or fitting record for this SKU has been supplied. The seller describes the fitting as normal workshop work, and until evidence lands on the file this page keeps conditional wording instead of promising a direct swap.
Sources checked on 2026-09-28: the Audi A3 generation record for the 8P chassis codes and build years, and Akebono’s high-performance caliper page for the opposed-piston 6-pot and 10-pot range. Neither source proves that this kit fits an A3 8P. Record maintained by SteedLuxParts, updated on 2026-09-28.
