The A4 B8 Front Kit in Brief
Four lines
- Built for the Audi A4 B8 (Typ 8K) front axle across the 2007–2015 window, with the 2012–2015 facelift inside the same file.
- 6-piston 8N calipers, with the hat and adapter bracket cut from your car’s own hub and knuckle data.
- Rotor rows follow the wheel: 345/355 mm on 18 inch, 380 mm on 19 inch, 380/400 mm on 20 inch.
- No drawing or measurement sits in this file yet, so the install type stays Confirm before order until the VIN, wheel and clearance checks are closed.
Why the B8 Order Starts With the Wheel, Not the Wish List
This Audi A4 B8 big brake kit opens with your car’s record and your wheel, because on the 8K platform the wheel decides how far the rotor row can go; parts and terms follow.
What arrives as one set
A made-to-order front axle kit: two 6-piston 8N calipers, two vehicle-specific adapter brackets, two rotors on aluminium hats, one ceramic pad set and two braided hoses. The hats and brackets are cut once the fitment file opens, not pulled from a shelf.
How the file opens
The order opens from the VIN or build sticker, the wheel size and, on aftermarket wheels, the ET and J values. We match the rotor row to the wheel, confirm the factory front-brake record, then release the bracket data with the quotation. Until that check exists the wording stays conditional, and that is deliberate.
Scope note: front axle only. Rear brakes, the parking-brake system and factory S4 or RS4 hardware stay out of this kit and out of the quotation.
Which B8 Configuration Is on the Order: The Checks Before a Quote
Four data points open the file, and two of them have to come off your car rather than off a catalogue page. The PR code – the factory build-option list on the car’s sticker or in the service book – names which front brakes the car left the line with.
| Control field | On the record now | Send with the RFQ |
|---|---|---|
| Vehicle identity | Audi A4 B8 (Typ 8K), 2007–2015 window | VIN or build-sticker photo |
| Factory front brakes | Varies with the build; never assumed from the badge | PR or option codes, or a photo of the front caliper |
| Hub pattern | 5×112, 66.5 mm centre bore (published fitment guides) | cross-check it against the car’s own record |
| Wheels planned for | 18–20 inch rotor scope | wheel size plus rim width |
| Aftermarket wheels | Diameter alone is not enough | ET and J values; a spoke photo helps |
| Rotor interface | Hat and bracket machined per car | the bracket data starts after the VIN check |
Record reviewed by the SteedLuxParts fitment desk on 2026-10-12. Hub data comes from published fitment guides; their ET and torque values disagree, so the page prints only the pattern and the bore and checks the car’s own record for the rest.
Rotor Rows by Wheel: 18, 19 and 20 Inch on the B8
Treat this as planning data: wheel size sets the rotor diameter (18, 19 or 20 inch), it is not a clearance result, and the thickness figure for each row is still To be confirmed.
| Wheel | Rotor row | Check before release |
|---|---|---|
| 18 inch | 345/355 mm | measure the rotor-edge-to-rim gap; check the spoke profile over the caliper |
| 19 inch | 380 mm | the same measurements, and aftermarket ET and J values |
| 20 inch | 380/400 mm | the same again, with rim width and tyre note |
Two mistakes we see: a bigger wheel alone does not hand you the bigger row, and a wheel that clears on the lift can still touch under load once the suspension changes, so the measured gap decides. Market reference: UK listings for this platform run from 330 mm to 390 mm, and one adapter route fits 6-piston calipers to a 375 x 36 mm B9 disc behind a 19 inch wheel minimum; that band and that route describe other sellers’ offers, not this record, whose rows start at 345/355 mm.
Inside One A4 B8 Front Set and the Interfaces Behind It
A single box for the front axle: 2 calipers, 2 brackets, 2 rotors, 2 aluminium hats, 1 pad set and 2 hoses. Every part below carries one open interface until the desk clears your build. Hat height – the distance between the rotor face and the hub mounting face – is cut from your car’s data, not guessed.
| Part | Qty | Interface still to check |
|---|---|---|
| 8N caliper (6-piston) | 2 | seat on the machined adapter bracket |
| Adapter bracket | 2 | knuckle bolt pattern, cut from your car’s data |
| Rotor on aluminium hat | 2 | hub bore, bolt circle and hat height from the build record |
| Brake pad set (ceramic) | 1 set | pad shape matched to the caliper; other compounds by request |
| Braided brake hose | 2 | banjo and chassis fittings checked at the fitment review |
The install note on file reads: keep the gap between the rotor edge and the rim above about 6.5 mm, or a wheel spacer may be needed; below that the wheel will not clear. Measure with the wheels you will actually run, and the desk holds the order until that reading is in.
Packing: one set, one export carton, 45 x 45 x 45 cm.
Materials, Finishes and the Missing Paperwork
On the build record
- Caliper body: cast aluminium standard; forged aluminium or titanium on request.
- Adapter brackets and hats: aluminium, with 6061 / 7075 / 8085 grades offered.
- Rotors: forged high-carbon iron; alloy cast iron or carbon-ceramic by request.
- Pads: ceramic friction material; metallic, semi-metallic, carbon-ceramic or carbon-carbon on request.
- Finishes: caliper, bracket and hat colours, plus a custom logo.
What the file cannot show you
No drawing, template, material report or test backs this SKU yet. The list beside this is what the build record holds; no performance claims ride on it, and choosing an option grade never changes the fitment checks above. When paperwork arrives, the file gets a version bump.
How Owners, Shops and Stockists Buy This Kit
Owner or first-time buyer
Your order begins with the VIN and the wheel, and the rotor row plus every open item comes back in writing before cutting starts. Don’t know your gap figure yet? Photos are enough to start that check.
Workshop or reseller
Send the build codes, the wheel spec and the row you want; the quotation returns bracket data you can file with the job. Repeat orders reopen the same file, and with the MOQ at one set a sample order is perfectly ordinary.
- MOQ: 1 set, priced per set and tiered by quantity on the quotation.
- Production runs 3–7 business days after the fitment file and the deposit land.
- Delivery: about 20–35 business days, on its own clock after production.
- Payment: a 30% deposit gets production started; the balance follows the quotation.
- Warranty: 5 years against manufacturing and quality defects only, and wear, wrong installation and unauthorised modification sit outside it.
- Price: this page shows the base set price and quantity tiers; the final quotation confirms the wheel-row options, finish, quantity and destination.
B8 Brake Questions Our Team Handles First
Will my 18 or 19 inch wheel clear this B8 kit?
The rows start at 18 inch: 345/355 mm there, 380 mm on 19 inch. Clearing the caliper is a different question from the disc diameter, so the desk still wants the rotor-edge-to-rim gap and the spoke profile measured before release.
Is a B8 S4 or RS4 front brake the same as this kit?
They’re separate factory cars: the S4 B8 window is 2009–2016 in the model record, and the RS4 B8 (2012–2015) carries its own front brake, a 365 mm disc with a 6-piston caliper on the record. Nothing in this kit is sold as interchangeable with either; the VIN check decides what sits on your car.
How is this kit different from the adapter-to-stock-disc route?
Both routes live on this platform. The adapter route keeps your existing discs and interfaces, while this kit pairs the 8N calipers with hats and brackets cut to your car, and the quotation lists every interface behind it. Either way the wheel and gap checks stay the same.
Does the 2012–2015 facelift change what I order?
The facelift stays inside this file; the record runs 2007–2015 and the quotation is built from your VIN and build codes, so a pre-facelift car and a B8.5 get their own confirmed data instead of a shared assumption.
Can the order ship as calipers only?
Calipers-only is quoted separately: the brackets, hats, rotors, pads and hoses come off the quote, and the file names exactly which interfaces you then supply yourself. Nothing is assumed to match.
What does one set weigh, and how does it pack?
About 45 kg measured per set, in one export carton, so plan a two-person lift at the delivery point.
Reference Photos, Sources and the First Message

Sources checked on 2026-10-12: Wikipedia’s Audi A4 entry for the B8 generation and its production window, and the Audi RS4 entry for the factory B8 front-brake reference. Neither page covers this kit’s brackets, hats or wheel clearance, so those live in this file and in your own measurements.
Next step
Send the VIN, wheel size and, for aftermarket wheels, ET and J through the enquiry form or WhatsApp; the desk returns the rotor row, the open interfaces and the quotation before machining starts.
