Product Details & Fitment

The application shown on this page is a reference configuration. It is not a universal-fit claim and it is not the only vehicle application we can review.

The short answer

  • This is one front-axle kit for the Audi A4 B9 (8W), scoped by the seller to 2015–2024 builds.
  • One set lists 2 calipers, 2 brackets, 2 rotors, 1 pad set, 2 hoses and 2 hubs.
  • Rotor rows are 380 mm on 19 inch, 380/400 mm on 20 inch and 400/410 mm on 21 inch wheels.
  • VIN, original front brakes, wheel data, rotor thickness and measured clearance still have to be reviewed before we release the build.

What the B9 Kit Changes

This Audi A4 B9 front brake caliper kit is a 6-piston front-axle conversion, not a routine brake replacement.

The product on this page

Akebono’s 6-pot family has three pistons per side. This record applies a 9N caliper to the A4 B9 front axle with vehicle-specific brackets and hubs.

We start with the car and wheel because the 8W range includes different builds. A badge, wheel diameter or marketplace listing is not approval.

What this front kit leaves alone

Rear discs, pads, calipers and the electronic parking brake stay outside this set. A complete car needs a separate quotation.

No stopping-distance, fade or temperature test is attached, so the page makes no performance promise.

Build Data That Opens the Quote

Four records open the quote: the car, original front brakes, intended wheel and rotor interface. Missing fields stay visible; we don’t borrow them from another A4 generation.

Vehicle identityAudi A4 B9 (8W), 2015–2024 product windowVIN and model year
Original front brakesTo be confirmed from the VINVIN or option codes and a photo of the existing front caliper
Factory wheelConfirmed from the vehicle recordDiameter, width and offset; no separate ET/J request
Aftermarket wheelNeeds a wheel-specific checkDiameter, width, ET, J and spoke/barrel photos
Rotor interfaceCustom per vehicle modelExisting rotor diameter and thickness; remaining data follows review
Rim clearance6.5 mm seller threshold for reviewThe measured rotor-edge-to-rim gap with the intended wheels fitted

The seller scope ends at 2024. Wikipedia records later market production, but this quotation does not extend automatically.

Rotor Rows for 19, 20 and 21 Inch Wheels

The 19–21 inch range has three rotor rows. A wheel size does not approve the assembly, and each row’s thickness is To be confirmed.

Wheel sizeRotor diameter on the recordWhat still has to be measured
19 inch380 mmRotor-edge-to-rim gap, spoke path, aftermarket ET/J and rotor thickness
20 inch380 mm or 400 mmWhich rotor row you want, the same rim measurements and the final wheel drawing
21 inch400 mm or 410 mmThe rotor row, inner-barrel contour and caliper-to-spoke clearance on the actual wheel

The 6.5 mm note

The 6.5 mm figure is a review requirement. The seller says a rotor-edge-to-rim gap below 6.5 mm may need a spacer; insufficient clearance prevents the wheel from fitting. We keep it conditional—not a promise to make any wheel fit.

Market references: a B9 spacer guide discusses 3 mm to 10 mm spacers, another lists a 355 x 32 mm kit, and a B9-family build cites a 380 x 36 mm rotor. None sets this SKU’s thickness.

What Sits Inside One Front Set

The counts come from the product record. The third column names what the quotation still has to close.

ComponentQuantityInterface still to be reviewed
Akebono 9N caliper, 6-piston2Casting ID, pad shape and mounting geometry
Adapter bracket2A4 B9 upright bolt pattern and bracket geometry
Brake rotor2Diameter and thickness by row; final data in the quotation
Brake pad set1 setPad shape and selected friction material
Braided brake hose2Fitting type and routing on the car
Aluminium hub2Hat height, centre bore, PCD and hub-face fit

Carton: 45 x 45 x 45 cm; measured gross weight about 45 kg. Calipers-only needs a separate quotation.

Materials Listed, Evidence Still Missing

Listed build options

  • Calipers: cast aluminium standard; forged aluminium or titanium on request.
  • Brackets and hubs: aluminium options listed as 6061, 7075 and 8085.
  • Rotors: seller wording says forged high-carbon iron; alloy cast iron or carbon-ceramic on request.
  • Pads: ceramic standard; metallic, semi-metallic, carbon-ceramic or carbon-carbon on request.
  • Finishes: caliper, bracket and hub colours, plus a custom logo.

What the file can prove

It proves what the seller lists, not that every grade is independently checked. No drawing, material sheet, template or test report is attached.

Two terms stay open. The 8085 alloy has no accessible reference in this review, and the forged rotor wording has no manufacturing record. Put either option in writing before using it in a customer job.

How Owners and Shops Move an Order

Owner or individual buyer

Start with the VIN, model year, wheel and a photo of the current front brake. For an aftermarket wheel, add ET, J and an inner-barrel photo. We’ll return the rotor row and quotation before machining.

No price is published on this record. Caliper finish, rotor row, material, quantity and destination all affect the quote.

Tuning shop, repair shop or reseller

Send one vehicle file per customer build, then add quantity and destination. A one-set sample lets a shop approve the file before planning stock.

Colour or logo work follows the fitment decision and never replaces a wheel check.

  • MOQ: 1 set.
  • Production: 3–7 business days after the fitment file and deposit are in hand.
  • Delivery: about 20–35 business days.
  • Payment: production starts after a 30% deposit is received; the balance and payment route follow the quotation.
  • Warranty: 5 years against manufacturing or quality defects only. Wear, incorrect installation and unauthorised changes are not treated as manufacturing defects.

Questions That Change the Rotor Choice

Why is the rotor thickness still To be confirmed?

The brief supplied diameters but no thickness. We won’t borrow a figure from another kit; the quotation must state it.

Can I order the calipers on their own?

Calipers-only is not the package described here. Removing other parts changes the quotation and the interfaces you must supply.

Does a 21 inch wheel guarantee that the 410 mm row clears?

No. A 400 or 410 mm row can be planned, but spoke profile, inner barrel, offset and measured gap still decide.

Do I need to send ET and J for an OEM wheel?

For an OEM wheel, we begin with VIN, year, diameter and width. Aftermarket wheels need ET, J and barrel/spoke photos.

Will this kit also replace my rear brakes?

No. It supplies the front axle only. Rear brakes and the parking-brake arrangement need a different product record.

Reference Images and the RFQ Path

Wikipedia’s A4 entry identifies the B9/8W generation from 2015. Audi’s A4 Avant photo record covers the other end of this product window. Neither source covers brackets, hubs, rotor thickness or clearance. Reviewed by the SteedLuxParts product desk on 2026-10-22; independent fitment review pending.

Send the front-axle file

Send the model year, VIN, original front-brake photo, wheel data, spoke and barrel photos, destination and quantity. A planning rule is a release requirement, not an approval.
